KESGRAVE LIBRARY NEWS (February)

Sunday Crafts (10 – 12 noon)

The following craft activities will be taking place during February:

Sunday 2nd – Did you know it’s Harry Potter Night on the 6th of February? Pop along and make Hedwig to celebrate;

Sunday 9th – It’s Valentine’ Day on the 14th of February. Create a wonderful heart shape sun catcher;

Sunday 16th – Monday 17th of February is Random Acts of Kindness Day – Design a ‘thank-you card’ and surprise someone of your choice;

Sunday 23rd– Did you know that hedgehogs are becoming quite rare? Come along and create ‘Spiky the Hedgehog’ to brighten up your room.

Activities are free. Parents must stay with under eights. There’s no need to book – just turn up and have a go.

Free Wordplay Sessions – every Thursday.

Tot Rock - 9.45am – 10.15 am.

BabyBounce - 10.30am – 11.00am.

Free Story Time Sessions – every Friday 9.45 – 10.15 a.m. (term Time Only). This session combines stories and rhymes. All welcome. Why not pop along?

Other Library Events for February 2020

Every Tuesday afternoon (Term Time) 3.45 – 4.45 p.m. Lego Club. Parents must stay with under 8s. The themes this month are 04/02 – Monster Trucks, 11/02 – Jedi Fighters, 22/02 – Free play. No need to book. Just pop along!  This is a free activity.

05/02 and 19/02/2020 – Knit and Natter - 2.30 p.m. £1.00 - tea, coffee and mince pies provided. Welcome to all new members.

06/02/2020 – Afternoon Book Group - 2.45 p.m. They are currently reading The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.

27/02/2020 – Evening Book Group – 7.00 p.m. Their book is to be decided.

Evening Book Group – Love reading but always read the same authors and genres? Why not try something different in the new year? We currently have spaces in our evening book group. The group meets one Thursday evening a month at 7.00 p.m. to discuss their current read and chose a new book for the next month. If you are interested, please contact the library.

Lego Afternoon – Tuesday 18th February 3.00 – 4.30 p.m. Looking for something to do over half-term? Why not pop along and take part in our free Lego afternoon. In this session we are designing the library of the future. What will yours look like?

Get Connected IT Session on Saturday 22nd February 10.30 – 1.00 p.m. – Are you having trouble getting to grips with a new piece of technology? Or would you like help downloading ebooks to your e-reader? A member of staff at the library; will be offering help sessions to all customers who would like some support using their iPads, smart phones, tablets, e-books, computers or need some general guidance using the internet. Just pop along to this help session and speak to a member of staff.

Other Notices

Used Stamps/coins – Can you help? – To help raise funds for St Elizabeth’s Hospice. Just bring them along and hand in to staff – it’s as easy as that!

100 Club – Our Community Group has launched a 100 Club, to help with fund-raising and we have over 70 people who have signed up. For just £1.00 per month you could enter and have a chance of winning a cash prize plus knowing you are supporting your local library.
