Inserting a table
1.) Click on the "insert table" button
to open the Table Properties dialog:

2.) Enter the number of rows and columns you wish the table to be. (You can change these values later)
3.) Enter the width and height of the rows and columns in pixels or in the percentage of the width (all the way across is 100%, 1/2 way is 50%, etc.)
4.) Enter a border size (1 is the narrowest).
5.) Enter your desired alignment.
6.) Enter a caption and summary statement, if desired.
7.) Enter desired cell spacing, or the “gutter width” between cells in pixels
8.) Enter desired cell padding, or the “white space” around cell contents in pixels
Editing Table Design
Once you have created your table, you have the option of adding or deleting rows or columns. To do so:
1.) Right click on a cell within the table. Select the option you want from the menu.

You may also wish to merge the content of cells or split the cells. This will combine the content of selected cells – but be aware that formatting of text is lost in the process. Splitting the cell will simply divide the cell in half, creating two cells in the space of one.
Cell Properties
You may wish to define attributes of individual cells. To do so, right click on the cell and choose "cell properties" from the menu.

From here you can adjust the width and height, determine word wrapping within the cell, the horzontal and vertical alignment of cell contents, the number of rows or columns the cell should span, and background and border colors.
