Each page on your site is made up of tools called 'modules'. Each module performs a different function. Modules are designed for everything from conducting a poll or creating a form to making announcements or simply adding text to your page. Modules are very easy to add you your pages, just follow the guide below. (Or, if you'd like, we have a video version of this tutorial as well.)
- Log into your site as an administrative user or one who has been given permission to edit pages.
- Select the page you wish to add a module to by clicking on it from the menu. If the page you want to add a module to is not in the menu, you will need to access it through the 'pages' function in the admin menu. (If this module is to go on a new page, you must create the page first.)
- Once you have selected the page you want to place the module on - you can use the module wizard located at the top and center of your screen. It looks like this:

- Your first step is to choose if this will be a new module or if it will copy and share content from a module on another page in your website.
- Add New Module: This adds a blank module that you can fill with your own information. In most cases you will want a brand new module in which case you simply leave the 'Add New Module' button selected and move on to the next step.
- Add Existing Module: This copies a module from another page on your website. If you change the button to 'Add Existing Module' then you will need to identify what page the module is on in the pull down list for 'module' and which specific module on that page in the 'title' area.
Note: Copying a module in this manner means that both modules are linked together and changes to the module on one page will also affect any other pages it is copied to.
- Module: Assuming you have chosen to add a new module, your next step is then to select the module you wish to use. You can access the list of available modules for you site using the list beneath 'Add New Module'. (For information about using our various modules, please refer to our help files under 'Working with Modules'.)
- Title: After selecting your module, give it a title. This will appear above the module once it is placed on the page.
- Visibility: Just like your pages, your modules can be made to only be visible by certain users or to anyone who visits the site. In most cases, you can leave this at the default setting of 'Same As Page' which applies the same settings to the module as the page visibility settings. The other option is 'Page Editors Only' which means that only those who can edit the page can see the module in case you want to keep the module hidden from public view until later.
(NOTE: Visibility settings can be changed and fined tuned more after the module has been installed.)
- Pane: This setting allows you to select which editable pane of your page the module will be inserted into. Use the drop down menu to select the pane you wish to place the module into.
- Insert: This allows you to decide where the module will be placed in relation to any other modules in the same pane. If there is no other module in the pane you are inserting this module into - this option is irrelevant and can be left with the default selection.
- Align: This aligns your module in relation to other modules in the same pane as the one you are inserting it into. Just like 'Insert', if there are no other modules in the pane, this selection is meaningless.
- Add: Once you have all your settings in place, click the 'Add' button to place the module in your site and begin working on it.
