Creating Links From Text or Images

1.)  With the HTML/TEXT editor open, type the words that you would like to make into a link.  (You may also use a picture/image that you have inserted to create a link.)

2.) Select text or image you wish to make a link and highlight it with your curser.

3.) Click on the “Insert/Edit Link” button  to open the link dialog. 

 

4.)  Type address of web page to link to in the URL field.

5.)  Click OK

6.)  Scroll to the bottom of the page to save your changes and activate the links.  (Note:  Links will not be active in the "Edit Text" view so you can make changes to the link's website addresses.)

Linking to another page or a file on your site

1) From the Link menu, click "Browse Server"

2.)  Click on the circle next to "page on my site" or "file on my site."

3.)  Choose the page or file from the drop-down menus.

Linking to other parts of the current page using Anchors

An anchor is a point on a page where you'd like to take a visitor via a click - such as when you have a "return to top of page" link at the bottom of the page that would return the visitor to the top.  For example:  Click HERE to go to the bottom of this page

An anchor can also make an entry in a table of contents a link to the topic it describes.  For example, click on any of the following links to see how the anchors work:

Creating anchor points

1.)  Click where you want the anchor (this is the destination point) so you have a blinking cursor.  DO NOT SELECT A WORD TO ACT AS AN ANCHOR.

2.)  Click on the “anchor” button  to open the anchor dialog box:

3.)  Assign a name to the anchor (ex. “top”)

4.)  An anchor icon will appear marking the anchor point.  This will not be visible outside of the editing view.

Creating links to anchors


1.)  Select text or image you want the user to click to go to the anchor point.

2.)  Click on the “Insert/Edit Link” button  to open the link dialog.

3.)  Change “Link Type” from “URL” to “Anchor on this page”

4.)  Select Anchor by name from the drop-down menu.

5.  Click OK.

6.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Update" to save the settings and activate the link. (Note:  Links will not be active in the "Edit Text" view so you can make changes to the link's website addresses.)

 

 

 

 

 

Changing Link Destinations

Using “Insert/Edit Link”

1.)  Select the link you wish to change by highlighting the text or image.

2.)  Click the “Insert/Edit Link” button. 

3.)   Make changes and save



Removing Links (Text and Image Links)

Using “Remove Link” button

1.)  Select link by highlighting the text or image.

2.)  Click “Remove Link” button.
